Looking for more than just a rafting trip? Interested in a trip suited for the outdoor enthusiast in everyone and the entire family? This is the ultimate adventure and you’ll only find it with New Mexico River Adventures. Our journey begins at our headquarters where you’ll meet your guides and outfit you with all the necessary equipment for the next three days, including camping, mountain biking and rafting equipment. Next we’ll drive north of Taos to the majestic Wild Rivers Recreation area where one of the most beautiful hikes in the Southwest awaits. Breathe in that fresh air as we descend the Rio Grande Gorge via the Scenic La Junta Trail ending on the banks of the Rio Grande near it’s confluence with the Red River. After a relaxing lunch by the river, we’ll continue upstream to get a view of one of the most treacherous rapids on the Rio Grande, Little Arsenic. After some great photo ops by the river we’ll begin the trek out of the canyon. The hike out is steep but also short and usually takes about an hour. The following day begins with a short drive to the famous Rio Grande Gorge Bridge for an interesting view of the canyon and the beginning of our mountain biking segment. The ride parallels the rim of the gorge offering amazing views the entire way. There will be stops along the way with time for snacks and short walks to jaw dropping vistas. The ride culminates in a spectacular downhill all the way to the river where the rafts will be waiting. After a nice float we'll settle into camp on the banks of the Rio Grande and relax while the guides prepare a hearty dinner and breakfast. The final day takes us through the spectacular class III rapids of the racecourse. This is a wonderful combination of activities for everyone looking for 3 days of adventure in one of the most scenic area on earth! Please join us for this unique trip.
