Ute Mountain of the Upper Gorge
As the Rio Grande enters New Mexico and begins it\'s cut into the volcanic plateau of Northern New Mexico lies the Ute Mountain run. This Class II section runs for 30 miles and the canyon gets deeper and deeper as you go. It\'s just about as remote and far away as you can get in New Mexico. Abundant wildlife populations and the numerous types of birds of prey inhabit the canyon. This section of the river is spectacular and only a small number of outfitters have access to the Ute Mtn. section. If you\'re looking to get away then this is the place.
