Gila Monster
Our rides in the Gila National Forest surround the Gila Wilderness Area selected by the Forest Service in 1924 as the world's first wilderness. This is a rugged realm of cactus and grass, juniper and pine, spruce and aspen, and few people. The continental divide meanders for 170 miles through this awesome canyon country, which was once the stronghold of the Apache warrior Geronimo and his followers. Centuries before this, cliff dwelling tribes lived here and their cave homes are preserved here at the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument. The rides we do in the area are of moderate to difficult terrain and average around 15 miles per day. We customize suitable trails for your ability level and always have a great camp set up for you at the end of the day to wind down.
